Welcome to the Vancouver Velo Vets Cycling Club...

A road cycling club established in 1992, with a focus on group rides, social connections and the on-going development of cycling. Club rides usually stop at a local coffee shop and social events are held throughout the year.

We pedal year round. An optional Richmond pick-up ride starting behind Tim Hortons on Bridgeport Road is scheduled every Saturday throughout the year at 9:00 am. Spring, summer, and fall rides throughout the Fraser Valley
can be comprised of two groups, an up-tempo group and a more moderate-paced group. Each ride will meet at the same time from the designated meeting place on the ride calendar where the groups will be organized if enough members are present.

Tuesday (Stanley Park) and Thursday (
Burnaby) evening up-tempo rides are offered from April thru October. Check the ride calendar for meeting places and start times. Distance of the evening rides will be determined by the amount of sunlight available.

Membership ranges from novice road cyclists to masters level and provincially licensed racers. The ride calendar reflects the variety of skill levels within the club; easy paced alternate social rides and higher paced rides. New members are encouraged to initially participate in rides appropriate to your riding skills and abilities.
Guest Riders are welcome but are required to complete a waiver form and bring it to the ride you wish to participate in. If you lack experience, start with an alternate Richmond ride (see calendar). See you soon!

During the off-season, November to March, rides are slower-paced and fenders and mudflaps are required. Club rides are in a rotating paceline, depending on the size of the group and traffic conditions. Experienced members of the club will pass on tips and instruction to anyone unfamiliar with pacelines or other aspects of the sport. You are required to have basic bike skills and an appreciation and respect for all aspects of bicycle safety.
